Common Uses for Diatomaceous Earth

The Diatomaceous earth or the DE is a renewable product that can be utilized in many ways. But today most of the people have not heard about it. It is a substance that is found in nature that can be used for agriculture, as a cleaning agent, for filtration, in pest control etc. It is safe for humans as well as for the animals. There are numerous claims made for the use of food grade diatomaceous earth.

Many people use the diatomaceous for bed bugs as it helps in eliminating the bed bug infestations. In its fine-powder form, it coats insects and causes them to dehydrate and die. There are many uses of the diatomaceous earth. Given below are some of them-

1) It is mostly used on organic vegetables and on grain that's in storage in order to protect them from insects. You might have sometimes seen the white powdery substance on food items such as grains, rice, beans, and oats, its DE residue that is considered safe for the human consumption. It is also used in cleaning up spills, including toxic ones.

2) The most commonly usage of DE is in the swimming pools for the filtration. It's also a proven barrier against snails and slugs and to get rid of termites.
